"digital tv is the worst thing that ever happened to america" (Oh, I guess things such as slavery and the attacks of and on Pearl Harbor were not as bad as I thought.) (Digital is) "a way to get people to by junk Japanese or chineese tvs" (Oh, apparently no NTSC TV sets were made overseas, or maybe they were "not junk" just because they were non-digital?) (I guess if TV had stayed NTSC for more than the 55 years it lasted, somehow all sets sold in the USA would have been American-made?) (And, remember, from the comments, those sets would have been BOTH "not junk" but ALSO would have supported a thriving "service industry".) And, all of those ads for TV sets are just put into the newspapers for fun, since no actual sales ever occur.)

(Oops, I guess all of those large, flat boxes I see being carried out of Fry's, Best Buy, and other stores are just mirages. "The (TV) sales industry was killed", too.

(If HDTV sets are/were that much better made than CRT sets, or if CRT sets had full service literature and parts availability right up to the end, it is huge news to me.)
